7 Myths Believed by Society

Pastor Mike did a GREAT sermon on July 20th about the 7 myths society believes. Here they are...{my notes}

Myth 1) Life happened by chance.

-Even science has proved THAT one wrong.

Myth 2) Religion works without a Bible.

-First off, morality is dictated by the Bible, most people don't believe that even though its true.
-Man does not want to be responsible to a higher authority than himself.
-When the 10 Commandments were taking out of the schools, there were no rules to obey. So rules became legalistic because they had no reason for obeying them. There is nothing to replace the Bible with.
-Isaiah 5 talks about replacing the light with darkness, and thats what you do when you take the Bible out of school.

Myth 3) Whatever is legal, is moral.

-Well, then murder is okay...Because the law protects abortion. Right?

Myth 4) Morality can not be legislated.
-Proverbs 21:2--Every way of man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
-We are to worship God, not man.

Myth 5) The roles of gender are interchangeable.

-This is in gay marriages, or sex changes. But also it is in the 'woman is higher than man' thought that is going around.

~The way to approach things like this is to -1- have compassion and -2- care enough to show him/her the truth.

Myth 6) The Church should have no voice in government.

-READ THE FIRST 3 WORDS OF THE CONSTITUTION!!!! {We the PEOPLE} meaning ALL, not just liberals.
-Saying that Christians/the Church should have no voice in government is denying the constitution.
-We ARE responsible and we need to take action.
-America's problems are politically bad becaouse we have no spiritualness. {if that's a word}

Myth 7) The battle isn't real.

-2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after [according to] the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, [of the fless] but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
-Our weapons are not to be fleshly, but spiritual.
-1 Timothy 6:12--Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

---This is not exactly everything that Mike said, but different thoughts I had during the service about what he was talking about. Please take no offense, if there are problems with any of this, please tell me.

Very good thoughts! =)

Yeah... things like this are a little crazy (myths). Take the one "There is no absolute truth." Oops, that means I believe that the absolute truth is there isn't. LOL

Good job, and thanks again for stopping by my site!
