New Blog Ideas...

Okay, so I've been trying to come up with things to do every day so I make sure I am posting what I learn. And have some accountability. So far I have...

Sunday--I will read through a few chapters of the Bible and post what I think or learned.

Monday--I will read a chapter or two of Psalms and post my thoughts on it.

Tuesday--Will continue to be Reader's Pick.

Wednesday--Weekly reading/thoughts of Philippians

Thursday--I will read Proverbs and post what I learned from it.

Friday--I will post a little something from the book called, "Gaining Favor with God and man".

Saturday--I will post on what the week was about in the devotion book I'm doing called 'Up'.

Also, I want to apologize for not posting this past Tuesday for Reader's Pick. I'm going through some struggles and I haven't been doing very good spiritually. Please pray for me if you think about it! Thanks everyone!!!

Very Blessed

In December 25th's Our Daily Bread [find the link under Devotion Sites] the story is about a couple going through some really hard trials with money.

They decided to have a party and invite all their friends. For a tree they had what they called a "Blessing Tree". It had pieces of paper tied on as ornaments and each paper had a blessing on it that the Lord had provided through the year.

Instead of getting upset because they didn't have much money to spend, they stayed focused on God and remembered to praise Him for their blessings.

Starting January 1st, every time something happens that is blessing, I'm going to write it on a piece of paper. Then in December I will start hanging them on my little Christmas tree. The ones that don't fit I will hang elsewhere in my room. What a great way to remember what God has done for you! I hope that you may try the same thing and write all your blessings down!

Future Keeper of the Home Binder

Okay, first I'm going to tell you how/where I got the idea and all that. My friend Lisa who is married with 4 kids, has a binder called 'Keeper of the Home'. It is very useful for her because she keeps her devotions things about the kids and other many things in it. She introduced it to me. The site that SHE got it off of is http://myblessedhome.blogspot.com/2007/06/welcome-to-hmb-university.html#article. You can see how to make it. Also, the woman who has the 'university' is married and has kids and a house to take care of. So there are a lot of things I just looked at but didn't add.
So here is the front cover of my binder...
Okay, so my binder is called 'Future Keeper of the Home.' The verse on the frong its Psalm 62:5 which says, "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him."

Next is the front slot and the pencil and tabs holder along with all the other pens and things...

Following that is the 'Schedules/Routines' section. It is the first section in my binder.

The verses on this page are Proverbs 16:9; Proverbs 16:3; 1 Corinthians 14:40; Ecclesiastes 3:1; and 2 Timothy 3:10. You can look those up for yourself.

Within the schedules/routines I have a 'routines' page. I have a 'morning routine', 'school routine', and a 'before bed routine.' It just lists the main things.

Then is the 'block schedule' which has 4 blocks. 1] Morning Block; 2] Afternoon Block; 3] Daily Duties Block: 4] Evening Block

Following is the 'daily duties' page which has each day and what my 'duties' are on each day of the week. Such as Monday I have declared 'paper day' when I go through papers and weed through old stuff and go through magazines or scrapbook. Friday is 'office day' when I print things I need for my binder and organize computer stuff and things of that nature.

Then a daily 'To Do List' with main things I need to get done each day.

And finally in this section is the main schedule. With a time/day frame.

The reason for ALL of these different yet similar pages is to go with each day. Each day is different, no one has a perfect life. So sometimes you need to use one schedule and another day you need another to keep on track.

Next is the 'Menus/Eating/Food' Section...

This section isn't really complete at all. Until I live on my own it won't be the greatest. So far in this section I have/plan on having a meal guide for when I make supper or any meal. So that I have at least some ideas and I'll record new things that I make. The verses on the cover are Mark 4:28 and Proverbs 13:25.

Next is the 'Inspiration' Section...

This section is for inspirational things that I may come across and want to read from time to time. So far I have a article about music that I like to read and get a reminder of why I have the standards I do. The verses on the cover are Job 32:3; John 3:3; and 2 Timothy 3:16.

Following that is the 'Devotions' Section...

I plan on finding/have found some online devotionals that you can print out. I'm going to put them in here for future times when I for some reason to have a book. The verses on the cover are Joshua 14:8 and Matthew 6:21.

My 'so far' final section is the 'Prayer/Praise' Section...

In the Prayer/Praise section I have a small inspiring thing about prayer and how to pray. Then I have a weekly prayer sheet that I adapted. I plan on making a daily prayer sheet to add as well. Along with God's many blessings that He provides. The verses on the cover are 1 Timothy 4:5; 1 Choronicles 16:11; Matthew 7:7; Job 22:27; Psalm 88:9; and Proverbs 15:29.

The FINAL picture I have is the back part. I have extra page protectors and paper as well as a folder to keep things I don't have time to add.

I hope that you will take the time and look up all of the verses mentioned. It would be worth it. I plan on adding MANY more sections such as Homeschooling, Cleaning, and Fitness for example. And of course I plan on adding things to the sections I already have.

I hope you guys enjoyed this! Make sure to vote for the one coming January 1st!

New Year

Hi everyone,

I just figured I'd give you all a little peek into what I'm planning in my devotional life for the new year.

I'm starting off January 1st with reading the Bible in 90 days. [See link on right -way down there-] That will last until March 30th. I am inviting whoever wants to to join with me. I will be posting what you need to read, or you can print the schedule. So far Molly is joining with me. I will be keeping tabs if you want to join me, meaning e-mails or another form of finding out if you're reading it...Then I will post everyone's name that completed it on March 31st, along with a certificate that you can print out and sign.

That's 1/4 of the year already. I MAY do another devotional book at that time, but I'm not sure. I will of course be reading those 'inspiring' type books. Just not a daily devotional unless I find I can handle it.

I just remembered...ALL of the year I'll be doing a short devotional every day out of a book called "God & I Time Treasures Volume 2". It gives you Scripture to read every day and then a small space to record what you learn.

Then starting March 31st, Molly and I are doing a devotional book together called "Beyond the Sun" and that is going to last 7 weeks. During that time I MAY do a different devotional as well, but like I said, I don't want to overwhelm myself and then quit.

Following that I am going to do a deep devotion time with the book "Seeking Him" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. It is 12 weeks long. I listened to some of the recordings that go along with it and I think it will be VERY good for me. I MAY try and do it during the 90 days through the Bible, but like I said, I don't want to overwhelm myself...

Following that I am going to do another 12 week study in a book called "Up".

So far that is all I have, along with all of the books I would LIKE to read in my reading list.

Well, that's all for today,

~Em

P.S. --I will also be working on my binder more next year. I'll be posting about my binder tomorrow...

Your Pick

Hey everyone,

The votes are in but I'm doing things a little different than what you all voted for. It was brought to my attention, that with the new year coming up it would be kinda neat to do the 'more on my binder' because it could be a way you could maybe start a binder or go along with me...So I've decided to do that...

Now, what I have decided is to post about that Tuesday so I have time to take pictures and things. Now, what I'll do is put up another vote for what you want me to post and it will be open for 7 days. Then every 7th day I'll post on what you guys picked...It's gonna be called "Pick it Tuesdays". I'm going to start one now and then have it end the last day of December/this year and then January 1st I will post what you picked...Since next Tuesday is Christmas...

What I would like to do is have something similar every day of the week, like a weekly thing...Like Monday's one subject, Tuesdays do the "Pick It", and so on. So if you have any ideas for me please post here...

Requests/Misc.

Hi everyone,

Today I may post a better thing later. But I just wanted to take the time and thank you to all who read my blog. I was wondering if you have any topics that you would like me to post about and my views on a certian thing. I have a few different topics in mind...Here they are, but feel free to add one if you want something else.

-More on my binder...

-Music [my standards and how I reached them]

-The heart is deceitful

-Why do 'bad' [sinners] people seem to 'have it all'?

-Peculiar People [a small thing on what I learned at my Aunt's Church]

Those are the ones I have so far, but I'm building a list as I think of things. If you don't care for any of those or the Lord is working in your heart about something and you'd like another's opinion, please post a comment and I will post whatever you guys pick. If I have no participation I'll just have to randomize it...

Thanks everyone!

~Emily

By the way, I did not get up at 5. Well, I did and I ate breakfast and did some of my devotions, but I just couldn't bare it. I was WAY too tired and went back to sleep. Didn't get up until 9 then...Whoops...
