Quick Update

Hey guys!

Sooo soo sorry I didn't post yesterday!! I was home all morning doing things and then we went to the Cookie Exchange with my church. And came home with Lisa. I got up at 4:18AM THIS MORNING!!!!! Can you believe that?!?! I woke up thinking it was late and that Lisa had tried getting me up then I looked at the time on my laptop and it said 4:18!! I was like WOW! And I stayed up! I listened to yesterdays message from Revive Our Hearts and it talked about baby dedication and how you should dedicate your child(ren) to the Lord.

I did my devotion time after doing a few more things on the computer. Then the kids started getting up and we played. I had my german class and after lunch I went with Lisa to her chiropractor[sp?]/therapy appointment. It was neat. I will eventually have to do something similar because I know I have back problems already because I like to spoil children! Hehe. But I just can't do that whole chiropractor thing...It just -shiver-.

Well, I had a very profitable day and I got to talk to Lisa about a LOT of things. It's so amazing what randomly comes up. But it is always something that one or both of us need encouragement, or remindance. It's amazing how the Lord works!

Well, I best go. I'm going to listen to today's Revive Our Hearts and then go to bed.

Goodnight!

Quick Devotional

Hi everyone,
I don't have time to post right now because I'm leaving to go with my mom for the day. I'll post what I wanted to a little later when I get home...Buuut anyway, I just wanted to encourage you to listen or read, to the Revive Our Hearts Devotional, located on the right hand side. It's very good and it really encouraged me and reminded me to remember to keep my time with the Lord first before everything else!

Why do we carry these burdens?

I receive the blog posts of Revive Our Hearts daily...The other days really got me thinking...

She said how that if we are going to move to say...a desert, we would not want to burden ourselves with snowsuits. So why as Christians do we burden ourselves with behaviors, lifestyles, and habits that we will regret when we stand before God?? We should embrace holiness to prepare us for eternity. We should act godly, not worldly. We need to be diligent to be without spot or blemish when we get to Heaven. Now obviously we can't be perfect, but if we are diligent and continue to try and be more Christ-like, it will be all worth it.
Nancy always includes a personal question at the end of the blog post, and it said,
"Is there an ongoing habit or choice in your life that you'd be ashamed of when you get to heaven? Why not repent? Take another step in preparing for your eternal home."

What a challenging thing. We if we will be ashamed of it when we get to Heaven, why are we not ashamed of it here? Think about the music you listen to, clothes you wear, things you say, things you think, the list goes on and on. Repent of your sins and strive to be better. We need to be preparing for our eternal home, what is here does not matter.

Humility

I am listening to a series by Nancy Leigh DeMoss from Revive Our Hearts on Seeking Him. It's been really good. I am behind, but I listened to two today. Right now she is talking about humility.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land."

A man that was on made it clear that before we can have revival, we need to FIRST humble ourselves. We need to be humble and let God take over our lives. Then pray and seek Him. I just really was encouraged by that. It's amazing how God provides things when you need them!
